This is me:
I was born here in Jozi on a chilly June afternoon. I live a love-for-people kind of life and I have 19 years of people-orientated working experience. I have a Diploma in Human Resource and I worked as an employee benefits coordinator which ignited my passion for helping people.
I have a compassionate character and I desire to be an instrument of hope and healing for those seeking help. My aim as a lay counsellor is to guide and empower people to be their best self and I am dedicated to walk the journey with them.
I, through Nadine van Rensburg Counselling Therapy
Practice commit in investing in the well-being of others and I believe that is the most meaningful pursuit we can take.
Not one person accomplishes all matters alone. One can support all living beings in conquering life’s vast and modest challenges thereby allowing them to do the same for you.
I am a loving wife, mother, daughter and aunt, born in Johannesburg. I aspire to serve all whom I care deeply for. I am driven by a deep-seated compassion within, granted me by my Creator for the purpose of sharing that compassion with all whom I meet along my life’s journey.
I have a profound appreciation for all the people I have met thus far and their contribution to my life in times of strive and triumph and would very much like to pay that forward by serving others throughout my community by using counselling as my labour of love.
I aim to provide a space for others where they can experience a sense of self-worth, healing, hope, understanding, care and meaning in a non-judgemental and trusting environment by means of exploration in the pursuit of gaining insight into a person’s unique moments of existence.
Being splendidly blessed with becoming a mom to an amazing son with unique challenges, I realized the lack of understanding and support available to not only these precious children but also their greatest advocates… their parents. I found peace in confronting and accepting the fact that my son’s challenges will not be understood or accepted by all and that neither he nor I needed them to be. As long as we keep persevering through one challenge at a time and never forget to celebrate seemingly small victories, my son can overcome, and so can I.
This living experience has made me realize I wish to serve other parents and children experiencing similar circumstances by creating a space where they do not have to journey alone or in silence but rather find meaning and support through the exploration of their unique challenges and suffering.
My love for beautiful and quirky animals of all kinds, four legs, fur, no fur, flying, swimming and walking, also contribute by adding to my understanding of life in abundance. They are teachers in their own right by setting wholesome examples of unconditional love, acceptance and understanding these of which I would personally strive to achieve within the best of my abilities.
Hallo - A Bit About Me
(Mother, daughter, sister, friend, wife, businesswoman, entrepreneur, and counsellor)
I am a proud daughter of an astute, profoundly stubborn and adoring German father and a no-nonsense devoted mother who has passed on, a sister to a global businessman, a first-time wife to a humble and kind farmer, a mother to two children who have enriched my life to no end, mom to a rescued fur baby (my heartbeat at my feet). I am my own businesswoman, but most importantly I am a woman who can adapt and love and feel and create and metamorphose through the seasons of my life.
My career path has taken me from humble PR beginnings at AECI Explosives in Klerksdorp to the high- lights, camera, and action of Radio 702, where I was initially employed as a PR Junior Assistant, to ultimately being responsible for producing programmes for some of South Africa's most beloved talk show hosts. My career in radio gave me the opportunity to work at Cliff Central exploring the dynamics and relatively new medium of podcasts. Working with Garth Cliff has been one of my career highlights.
I have worked in non-profit organisations, and I have worked in corporate organisations. Currently I own a small marketing/design studio which has been a labour of love – my third child who is now 21 years of age – together we have weathered economic storms, strikes, riots and Covid. My motto: Tough times don't last tough people do.
I have spent most of my adult life working with people, listening to people, understanding people, and assisting people within the different levels of my professional career. I have a deep calling and need to help those who seek counselling and professional guidance be it on a personal or business perspective.
I shall conduct my counselling by exhibiting: -
To understand and share your feelings. To put myself in your shoes and to understand your situation from your point of view.
To guarantee the utmost confidentiality within all sessions – it’s imperative that you feel you can trust and feel safe with me during sessions to establish a solid and open rapport.
I will be patient and work according to your pace, to allow you to process the discussions at your own leisure. That its ok for things to take a little time for processing and coming to terms with change. We shall take the journey together.
It is very important to me that during our sessions, you sense that I truly care about you. Even though I may not be able to relate to every issue that is shared, I shall be able to show you compassion and walk the journey with you from your perspective.
To encourage and instil hope for you to see how important you are, that life is made up of choices and to show you your strengths and your way forward.
To be always open minded and non-judgmental, to show you that you are in a safe environment with freedom of expression.
To remain flexible in my approach – to work with what makes you feel most comfortable.
A Good Listener
To be a good listener, to be intuitive and discerning and really try to understand what your needs are. To translate our sessions into goals that you can work towards to reach resolution.
Ability to care for self.
To recognise your personal limits and boundaries and to actively guide you on a life of personal care. To offer sympathetic support and understanding in a caring comforting manner.
