This is me:
I was born here in Jozi on a chilly June afternoon. I live a love-for-people kind of life and I have 19 years of people-orientated working experience. I have a Diploma in Human Resource and I worked as an employee benefits coordinator which ignited my passion for helping people.
I have a compassionate character and I desire to be an instrument of hope and healing for those seeking help. My aim as a lay counsellor is to guide and empower people to be their best self and I am dedicated to walk the journey with them.
I, through Nadine van Rensburg Counselling Therapy
Practice commit in investing in the well-being of others and I believe that is the most meaningful pursuit we can take.
Hallo - A Bit About Me
(Mother, daughter, sister, friend, wife, businesswoman, entrepreneur, and counsellor)
I am a proud daughter of an astute, profoundly stubborn and adoring German father and a no-nonsense devoted mother who has passed on, a sister to a global businessman, a first-time wife to a humble and kind farmer, a mother to two children who have enriched my life to no end, mom to a rescued fur baby (my heartbeat at my feet). I am my own businesswoman, but most importantly I am a woman who can adapt and love and feel and create and metamorphose through the seasons of my life.
My career path has taken me from humble PR beginnings at AECI Explosives in Klerksdorp to the high- lights, camera, and action of Radio 702, where I was initially employed as a PR Junior Assistant, to ultimately being responsible for producing programmes for some of South Africa's most beloved talk show hosts. My career in radio gave me the opportunity to work at Cliff Central exploring the dynamics and relatively new medium of podcasts. Working with Garth Cliff has been one of my career highlights.
I have worked in non-profit organisations, and I have worked in corporate organisations. Currently I own a small marketing/design studio which has been a labour of love – my third child who is now 21 years of age – together we have weathered economic storms, strikes, riots and Covid. My motto: Tough times don't last tough people do.
I have spent most of my adult life working with people, listening to people, understanding people, and assisting people within the different levels of my professional career. I have a deep calling and need to help those who seek counselling and professional guidance be it on a personal or business perspective.
I shall conduct my counselling by exhibiting: -
To understand and share your feelings. To put myself in your shoes and to understand your situation from your point of view.
To guarantee the utmost confidentiality within all sessions – it’s imperative that you feel you can trust and feel safe with me during sessions to establish a solid and open rapport.
I will be patient and work according to your pace, to allow you to process the discussions at your own leisure. That its ok for things to take a little time for processing and coming to terms with change. We shall take the journey together.
It is very important to me that during our sessions, you sense that I truly care about you. Even though I may not be able to relate to every issue that is shared, I shall be able to show you compassion and walk the journey with you from your perspective.
To encourage and instil hope for you to see how important you are, that life is made up of choices and to show you your strengths and your way forward.
To be always open minded and non-judgmental, to show you that you are in a safe environment with freedom of expression.
To remain flexible in my approach – to work with what makes you feel most comfortable.
A Good Listener
To be a good listener, to be intuitive and discerning and really try to understand what your needs are. To translate our sessions into goals that you can work towards to reach resolution.
Ability to care for self.
To recognise your personal limits and boundaries and to actively guide you on a life of personal care. To offer sympathetic support and understanding in a caring comforting manner.

A bit about me…
A mother of two beautiful girls, I have a passion for children & art. Growing up in a very close knit family brought a love of children of all ages. Being a shy & quite person creativity and art became a very important part of my life and a way of expressing myself. It also brought me to running my own business for 19 years.
Through my journey, I believe life has given me certain experiences for a reason of preparing me for my life’s purpose of helping others. Being a very hands on mom I’ve had my experience in challenges along the way and enjoy these little humans and all their growing stages.
Life brings many mountains to climb from an early age to the end of our lives. Having kids can bring so much love and joy but it does not come without its challenges. As a child trying to figure things out emotionally, socially and mentally can sometimes be hard. If we give our children the guidance and skills they need they can grow to be amazing human beings. During the teenage years we face trying to find ourselves and where we belong in this world with all the pressures of trying to fit in. These times are not always easy for them or for us as parents. I am a big believer in art and all its benefits. And bringing art to a session is a language children instinctively understand and teenagers feel less threaten.
When we grow up we face a whole set of new challenges, work, relationships, life events and standing on your own two feet. This thing we call life has its ups and downs and we all need some support and encouragement at some time or other. I am here to walk a journey with you. In a language that best suits you whether it be play or art or just a listening ear. Providing a safe space where you are respected, heard, guided and empowered to overcome your challenges or just find your authentic self.

A bit about me…
I’m a qualified high school educator with 5 years’ experience. In my field, I have learned the importance of celebrating each unique attribute in others because this is what propels them forward in achieving their fullest potential. Doing this in a non-judgmental way that allows others to feel safe and secure is what I strive to deliver. I love people and helping them discover their true selves while learning how to cope in different environments.
My life’s journey has taught me about the sensitivity of challenges we sometimes face and how talking to a professional can help heal the pain. This is why I chose this profession and continue to believe that therapy brings healing.
Whether you’re going through a divorce, you’re adjusting to a new work environment or you simply need to get things of your chest, I’m here to hold your hand. I will walk with you as you discovering your strengths and overcoming life’s challenges.
• Vision –
I want to see people from different walks of life overcome their life’s challenges and thrive with coping skills that are proven to work. I would like to see people doing the work it takes to have a healthy view of self and others so that their relationships are impacted in positive ways.
• Mission –
My mission is for those I encounter to remember that they are not alone and that they are safe to be themselves and to reach their full potential in my presence.
• Value –
My experience with different personalities in my line of work has taught me to be sensitive to what each person’s unique nature is and what it takes for them to have a positive response to their surroundings. My sensitivity can spark a fire within others that can only propel them to greatness. My empathetic nature helps to make others feel safe and secure with me from the very moment they meet me. I have a colorful personality which draws people to me and encourages them to be themselves.
